Google x BikeLA: Capturing Community Through the Lens of Pixel
Every ride has a story. Pixel brings it to life.
Google partnered with BikeLA to showcase the Google Pixel as a tool for creators, storytellers, and everyday users. Led by creatives and BikeLA founders (Joswin Herrera, Analinda Meneses, and Ivan Meneses) the campaign explored how the Pixel seamlessly captures movement, cityscapes, and community moments. By featuring BikeLA’s story across Google’s social platforms and national TV, the campaign connected with diverse audiences, demonstrating the Pixel’s ability to turn everyday experiences into compelling visual narratives.

Google needed to highlight the Google Pixel’s advanced camera capabilities in real-world use while keeping the campaign authentic and relatable. The challenge was to feature a creator who embodied creativity and storytelling while building a meaningful connection with a wide audience. BikeLA, a cycling community founded by Joswin Herrera, was the perfect fit—blending movement, city exploration, and content creation. The campaign also needed to engage both English and Spanish-speaking viewers, ensuring a broad and inclusive reach.

A content-driven campaign was developed through Joswin Herrera’s perspective, using the Pixel to document BikeLA’s rides and capture the essence of the community. The visuals focused on real moments—fast-paced city rides, candid interactions, and vibrant landscapes—demonstrating the Pixel’s ability to shoot high-quality content on the go. Google strategically distributed the campaign across IGTV, YouTube, and Twitter, while the Spanish-language segment aired nationwide on Univision, Telemundo, Fox, and ESPN Deportes, expanding its cultural impact.

As a co-founder of BikeLA, this campaign was deeply personal for our team. We wanted to showcase the Google Pixel’s camera capabilities and telling the story of our community in the most authentic way possible. very shot, every frame, and every story reflected the connections we’ve built, the energy of the rides, and the freedom we experience while cycling. This project was about people, movement, and the way we see the city through our own lens and Angelenos and creatives.
